Hey! My name is Brenton and I am the Worship Pastor! I have many loves in this life. Some of them include my wife, my three kids, and the San Francisco 49ers, volleyball, sushi, weightlifting, and chess. My wife and I actually met in 2005 at an open gym playing volleyball, and we still try to get out there and play as much as we can. As I said, we have three kids and a dog that I was forced to purchase because of my tremendous love for my wife and three children. As far as ministry is concerned… well, I originally planned to be a high school math teacher and football coach, but God had other plans. In 2017, we all moved to Utah for me to be a worship pastor in Orem, and then again in August of 2021, when God called us to OCC.

Music has always been a big part of my life. Since I first picked up a guitar at the age of 14, I have enjoyed playing and writing music. Following my conversion from Mormonism to Christianity, I decided to use my musical talents to glorify God. Leading the congregation in worship and witnessing His body singing His praises brings me immense joy. I also have a passion for teaching and preaching. Although I had initially planned to teach math, I now aspire to teach for God’s glory. After obtaining my MDIV in Christian Apologetics from Liberty University in 2022, I believe I am well-equipped to fulfill my pastoral and teaching duties effectively.

Above all, my prayer is that whether I lead you and your family in worship through music or help you study God’s word, you will be transformed by the power of the gospel and gain a deeper understanding of your identity in Christ. I also hope that OCC can be a place where you grow into the person God has intended you to be.
